2/3 of The Crucible

October 31, 2006

Wow, that is all i have to say about the Crucible so far. It is just so full of action and suspence that it really gets me into it and want to read more. This book really shows me how chaotic the Salem witch trials were and how many harmless people, mainly women, were being sent to jail and getting killed over just a stupid accusation. There are so many false accusations of women being witches that it seems like everyone in this town could be a witch. The act starts with Mr. Proctor and Elizibeth in Protor’s house. The servent of Elizibeth gives her a doll and since Elizibeth was accused of being a witch, the marshall came to visit her house. When he got there, he discovered the doll to be a voodoo doll, which only increased the suspicions of her being a witch. What is going to happen to Elizibeth? I think that she is going to be hung for the voodoo doll, but i’m expecting a surprise at the end of the crucible because i think all of this is leading up to something juicy.

1/3 of The Crucible

So far through all of Act 1, there have been a lot of characters introduced and i mean a lot. I actually think that have all those characters makes the play a little less interesting because there is so much backstory on them that it seems to slow the play down. Anyways, so far, Reverend Parris’s daughter, Betty, was a accused of being a witch. Parris saw that his neice Abigail Williams, Betty and a bunch of other girls, including a slave were dancing in the woods in the middle of the night. This was very peculiar behavior so it really leads to the suspicion that Betty and the other girls could be witches. Betty seems to not be normal and there is something strange about her. Parris is afraid that Betty could be a witch, in that case he would have to leave Salem. Even though the girls denied the fact that they are witches, i predict that people will just say that they are witches and they will get hung for that. I really like the play so far though because it has a really interesting plot and it seems like it is really going to start getting interesting from here on. The only question that pops in my head is why are these girls, if they are not witches, acting so crazy? I’m sure they know that doing weird things can bring people to believe that they are witches, so why do all of it?

Scotish Play Progress 2

October 26, 2006

Now is the day before the actual deal and i think that our group is in good shape. We all learned most of our lines and we know our stage positions during some scenes. My lines as murderer #1 have all been memorized and i hope that i don’t forget them. Our group looks very capable of doing well and at this rate, it looks like we will beat all who come in our way.

M@%&$+^ Progress

October 20, 2006

In the Scotish Play, I am Murderer #1 and the progress of my lines are going well. I have memorized most of my lines for Act 3 Scene 3 and i have gotten most of my stage directions correct. When it comes to the groups progress, we have divided up what we needed to do for the prompt book and we have divided up all the parts. We are not arguing on who is playing Macbeth because Anthony offered to be Macbeth. We didn’t want Mark to be Macbeth, so it was an easy disicion. Right now, we need to memorize all of our lines, and learn our stage directions. Everyone also has to learn that i’m the murderer killing Banquo(Mark). I am still learning how to kill mark in an efficient and exciting way for me and the other two murderers.

The Crucible

I am choosing to read the Crucible because it is about the Salem Witch Trails and they are pretty interesting. I do want to learn a little bit on how this author goes about showing what the Salem Witch Trials are like.
