In my opinion, the main conflict in Iraq is the Isreali-Arab conflict because a lot of muslims are angry with the way that America is handling the situation pay giving weapons and money to Isreal. Iraqi’s are obviously upset with this because Isreal is the true enemy to the middle east, and the U.S is just aiding them. I can say this honestly, the 9/11 attack had a little something to do with how America was funding Isreal to take over Palestine and attack this innocent country that they played. Now, i’m not saying that was the only reason to the attack, but it had something to do with it, and i’m sure that if America at least stopped giving money and weapons to Isreal, there would be less terrorist attacks probably less U.S-Arab tension. With the discussion is class, we said that we should stay in Iraq for a while because of all the civil war, well, like i said in the last blog, there really is no good thing to do now that we already went to war with this country, but we should at least make sure the violence is kept to a minimum and make sure that not a very big bloody war comes to be.
In the article, it mentioned that Syria and Iran should help, that made no sense. They did not want this war to take place, and now you are telling them to help out, forget it. These two countries don’t want to interfere with the fighting. Also, it isn’t their problem, it is ours, we started it, so we should finish it with the least amount of dignity we have left as a country.

The question is what should we do in Iraq now? Honestly it is really hard to think of one that would work. One suggestion is that we add more troops in Iraq. That honestly would not help because it would just get the Iraqis more upset and just revolt more to the idea of America being in Iraq. Also, what would that do, even if we stayed for another 10 years, Iraq would still be significantly weaker than when Saddam was in power, and Iran could easily take it over if they wanted to. Seperating Iraq into 3 different countries would just be madness.
It turns out that if we do turn Iraq into 3 different countries where each country has it’s own religeon, the countries would be very vonerable to attack from other countries because they would get so much weaker. (Olmstead)
Pretty much, Iraq would easily get taken over by Iran because the country of Iraq, which was already weak to begin with, is now divided into three different countries, only making each country weaker and easier to take over. The best option would probably be take the troops out of Iraq, and I don’t think that because it is not our problem, but because we are just not doing anything in Iraq that is significant towards helping Iraq be a better nation. Now, if we leave, Iraq will still be weak and Iran would be prone to take it over, so i think that in every way you think of it, we just ruined Iraq. They were much better with Saddam in power than us trying to “liberate” them. Considering all the options, it seems like Iran will make a move on Iraq no matter what, so really, it is America’s fault for any chaos to come in the middle east from now on.
